Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 54 DS, Waterman
Tom Amery, Ghent, Belgium
Keen to enable Tom to continue on his adventure with the minimum of delay, Admiral quickly arranged for a surveyor to provide support on his arrival in Tahiti. Establishing the full extent of lightning damage to a yacht on passage is notoriously difficult given the variation in the nature of strikes. A payment on account gave Tom the flexibility to engage whatever assistance he could secure to re-establish a basic but sound navigation and electrical generation capability.
With Admiral’s help Tom was able to repair his systems while he continued on his passage to South East Asia. Managing lightning repairs can be a daunting project management task for any owner. However, Admiral has considerable experience in dealing with lightning strike repairs and was able to respond quickly to any communication, both in and out of office hours. Happily, final repairs were achieved without too much impact on Waterman’s sailing plan.
