World ARC Cruising Fleet Enjoy Warm Welcome At Niue Island

After a tougher than usual passage from Suwarrow the World ARC cruising fleet were rewarded with a typically warm welcome when making landing at Alofi for the fleet’s stop off at the South Pacific island paradise of Niue Island last May.

Niue Yacht Club, known as “The Biggest Little Yacht Club in the World”, organised a full programme of activities, including drinks held at the New Zealand High Commissioners Residence and sponsored by Admiral Motor Boat Insurance.

As a supporter of the World Cruising Club, and provider of the World ARC Rally Insurance for many of the yachts in the cruising fleet, Admiral Boat Insurance was delighted to be able to sponsor this popular annual sailing event once again.   The World ARC Cruising Fleet, were also treated to a local Fia Fia feast arranged by the residents of Alofi North.

Impressed by not only Niue Island’s fascinating landscape, which is full of caves and sites of geological interest, but also the warmth of the welcome received from its islanders,  the World ARC Cruising Fleet were sorry to have to cast off their moorings for the short sail to their next destination, Vava’u in Tonga.
