Admiral Yacht Insurance appoints new Claims Manager

Admiral Yacht Insurance has made a key new appointment to take account of the imminent retirement of Ken Murfitt, the current Claims Manager.

Bob Samuels has been recruited to the role of Claims Manager. He will head the Claims division, ensuring that all customer claims are progressed swiftly to final settlement.

Admiral is one of the few yacht insurance specialists authorised to settle claims directly with clients rather than pass them on to an Underwriter for consideration. Bob will take responsibility for the resolution of all claims received, working closely with our Underwriters on major claims.

Bob is a boat owner and experienced sailor. He brings to Admiral a broad range of experience having previously held management roles in the defence aviation and marine sectors. His recent background in managing safety and risk evaluation trials on helicopters also contributes to the experience he brings to his new post at Admiral.

“We welcome Bob to our team at Admiral, “ comments Managing Director Robert Holbrook. “His strong technical grounding and commercial experience, particularly in contract negotiation and customer support, in conjunction with his sailing experience, will be of direct and invaluable benefit to our customers. Admiral are passionate about providing an excellent claims service and with Bob’s `hand on the tiller’ we can ensure that this continues.”

Admiral Yacht Insurance, based in Salisbury, insures a range of sailing and motor yachts including long distance ocean cruising yachts, and recently insured many of the fleet taking part in the ARC rally.
